Make your own ice cream… in a bag?!

As the weather finally heats up outside, we have a delicious afternoon activity to sorbet your appetite.

In just five minutes you can make a scrupmtious ice cream from milk to cool you down. Don't believe us? Not making a lick of sense? Well read our quick easy guide and prepare to eat your words...or ice cream.

Ingredients (per ice cream scoop)

  • 1 cup of milk
  • 1/2 teaspoon of vanilla / vanilla essence
  • 6 tablespoons of rock salt
  • Lots of ice cubes
  • 1 small re-sealable plastic food bag
  • 1 large re-sealable plastic food bag

Step 1 carefully pour the milk, sugar and vanilla into the small bag and seal it

Tasty Tip: if you want to add different flavours e.g.honey, chocolate chips, strawberry or chocolate sauce add now

Step 2 fill the large bag halfway with ice and add the rock salt

Step 3 place the small bag inside the large bag and seal the large bag secure

Step 4 shake the mixture for 5 minutes; ask an older sibling or adult to share the shaking if your arm starts to ache

Step 5 carefully open the large bag and take out the small bag

Scoop out the ice cream from the small bag, eat the amazing ice cream and try not to get brain freeze!
